Another story brought to you by the the Von B's. Yeah, there's a story behind that name. That's our letter boxing "name". Go google letterboxing, search your city, grab your husband/boyfriend, grab a pen, stamp/stamp pad and notebook, and go explore. I can guarantee you it will be one of the most fun dates you'll ever have. If not, then I will personally take you out for coffee or ice cream to make up for the time you lost attempting to go letterboxing. Anyways, this weekend was hand's down one of the best weekends we've had in a while. Maybe it was just the fact that I got to finally spend some time with Steven. But regardless, it was a fun weekend.
Friday started with me emailing Steven a list of things (his favorite foods) to pick up before he came home. The whole night was whatever he wanted to do. We ate some chili, drank coke and his favorite beer, ate some candy, and watched movies all night. Saturday we slept in and went to this cute tiny little restaurant that serves doner kebabs, pizza, and some other yummy food. It is also has places to sit down inside which was nice. The food was so good! After that, we spent a little while shopping. My favorite past time. Steven is in need of new sneakers because his got wet and smell like nasty mold. I think we might just wait until we come back to the States to buy some because we couldn't really find any here. They have a Foot Locker here in Pforzheim, but the cheapest sneakers I could find were like 70 euros. Ridiculous... We usually tend to buy shoes that are a little more expensive because we like certain brands and I personally think they hold up better... but 70 euros for ugly shoes? I think not. We got to watch the Miss and Mr. Pforzheim runway show. It was quite entertaining. Sunday we went to church in Stuttgart and then spent most of the afternoon there as well. They are having some kind of fair thing there so we got to get some food and we got a HUGE plate of french fries... my favorite. On the way back to the train station, we stopped at this gorgeous Catholic church and slipped in while they were having mass to watch. The church was so beautiful inside and it was fun listening to everyone sing in German. The priest also was speaking in Latin which was interesting because I've never heard anyone say anything in Latin. Unfortunately, we found out when we got to the train station that we had just missed the train to Pforzheim and had to wait almost an hour for the next train. When Steven went to buy our tickets, which were 26 euros for a ONE WAY ticket back (way too overpriced), he had to pay with a 50. Which resulted in us getting 24 euros back in change. We were both laughing when we realized that we were getting paid back in change. That's a lot of change!
Right now, we're in the design studio so that Steven can get some work done. On the way here we had to take the bus. That was a funny experience. It seems to me that the bus drivers don't care if you're sitting down or holding onto anything before they take off. Usually, it's not a problem because the driver will drive smoothly. Oh, not today. Before I had even grabbed a pole to hang onto, he took off. Which resulted in me flailing my arms and almost falling over. All I could do was grab about 5 of the loops that hang from the ceiling for you to hang on to. But, since I'm short, it makes me start swinging. Like in the air. It was so funny. I was dying laughing at Steven because he kept falling over and almost smacked this lady in the face. She was dodging his book bag every time the bus turned. It was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Plus, it's really funny watching a 6'2 guy try to maintain his balance. Priceless.
Here's a picture of a doner kebab so that our parents can finally see what one looks like:

if you travel after six you can use a night ticket which is only like 20 euros for 2 people... i think.
RICE PUDDING (Bea Belanus)
4 cups milk
1/2 cup regular long grain rice
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 maraschino cheries (optional)
In 4 quart saucepan over high heat, heat milk, rice, sugar, and salt to boiling. immediately reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour until rice is very tender, stirring occasionally.
In a small bowl with fork ,beat eggs slightly. Stir in a small amount oof hot rice mixture into the egg mixture.
Slowly pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, stirring rapidly to prevent lumping. Cook stirring constantly until rice mixture is thickened. (about 5 min) Do not boil or the mixture will curdle. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla.
Garnish with whipped cream and a cherry.
If by any chance your pudding gets too think you can addd some milk while it is cooling. Enjoy.
